Some, like this 21-minute Pitch Widths workout, are deceptively simple . . . but brutally efficient. Head to a local soccer field to see if you can keep up with the best.

How to do it:

1. After warming up thoroughly, stand on the sideline of a soccer field.

2. Run the width of the field and back in 25 seconds or less.

3. Rest for 25 seconds.

4. Repeat 5 times.

5. Jog 2 minutes to recover.

6. Repeat 2 more rounds of 5 pitch widths, jogging for 2 minutes in between.
